Who are we? A family from Bend, Oregon who wanted to experience a family friendly mission trip. After our first trip, in 2012, we couldn't wait to go back the following year. We enjoy sharing this amazing experience with others!
What we get to do: Build homes in Tijuana, Mexico for families in need of shelter. We have had the privilege of building 32 homes over the past 12 years!
Where do we stay? Just minutes over the border in Tecate, Mexico at Rancho La Paloma Ministry Center. http://www.rancholapaloma.org/
How long is the trip? It only takes 3 days to build the home! We enter Mexico on a Sunday evening, start building Monday morning and are headed back into the U.S. on Thursday. Our family chooses to drive, but there is the option to fly to San Diego.
How much does it cost? The cost for the 2025 trip is $265 per person. That includes four nights stay in Tecate, MX and 11 meals. Each participant is responsible for travel costs.
Who pays for the building supplies? The total cost for all the supplies to build one home and latrine in 2024 was $14,200. The building supplies are paid for by donations. You can easily donate through PayPal by clicking on the Donate button on our Home page. 100% of your donations go to the building supplies! Do we really bring our kids? Absolutely! Our youngest was 5 years old on his first trip. One of our favorite parts of the trip is building the house with the homeowner and her kids!
